Former Director, U.S. Department of Education, Office of Educational Technology

Linda G. Roberts directed the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Educational Technology from its inception in September 1993 to January 2001, and served as the Secretary of Education's Senior Adviser on Technology. Before joining the Clinton Administration, Roberts directed 3 landmark technology studies at the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment that became the basis for Ed Tech Federal and State law and policy. Roberts continues to advance the effective use of technology in education, advising companies, foundations and government agencies. She is on the NSF National Visiting Committee for the Digital Libraries Program. She serves as Board Trustee for Sesame Workshop and the Education Development Center (EDC). She is also a board director at Wireless Generation and Voyager Learning and is a member of the Cable in the Classroom Advisory Board, as well as other ed tech projects. Roberts received her B.S. degree from Cornell University, her Ed.M. from Harvard University, and her Ed.D. from the University of Tennessee.
