The Executive Leadership Institute, ELI serves as the professional development arm of the Council of School Supervisors and Administrators.
The mission of ELI is to both challenge and support school leaders to be the very best that they can be. The vehicle for accomplishing this is providing standards-based, practical, results-driven leadership training opportunities. Since its inception in 2002, ELI has opened five Educational Leadership Centers in each borough to serve as professional development centers for CSA members. These centers provide differentiated individual and group opportunities, research and study groups, guest speakers, lecturers, individual consultation and technical support. In addition, the educational centers house professional libraries available to program participants; and offer support for the integration of technology into instructional and administrative programs. The major emphasis of ELI's professional development activities has been programs for first and second year assistant principals (SBISI) and assistant principals with more than two years of experience who aspire to the principalship (ALPAP).
